Morion (Black Quartz) refers to quartz that, when held up to the light, is either completely opaque or only slightly translucent. Unlike Morion, Onyx is a different type of natural stone altogether. While Morion is a type of black quartz, Onyx belongs to the agate family.

Its main effect is protection against evil and negative energies. It’s said to instantly dispel harmful energy, so the owner may not even realize they were in danger. Morion is believed to shield against troubles, accidents, misfortunes, spiritual energies, as well as negative emotions from others, such as jealousy and anger.
